About: The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) on behalf of BMZ is implementing the Technical Cooperation (TC) module Transboundary water cooperation in the Lower Mekong Basin, which aims to improve cooperation between the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Member States and strengthen governance in the water resources sector to balance competing uses of water in the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB). The study provides the information base, decision support tools, capacities and an initial framework of actions, which help shape the design of a comprehensive and longer-term Joint Project for the 3S sub-basin. The 3S Basin Atlas is a key output of the preparatory study, developed by ICEM.
The study supports the preparation of measures in the 3S sub-basin for transboundary cooperation on sustainable water resource management and climate change adaptation, through work packages to:

The following section provides a list of the events held during the Project period. The events involved a diverse range of stakeholders across the 3S basin, including national line agencies, provincial departments, regional collaborators (such as NGOs), local communities, universities and research institutes and private sector representatives. A range of events were held, including National Working Group meetings, Regional Steering Committee meetings, technical intensive training, field missions, nature-based solutions training missions and Basin Atlas training.
